“Scream” is a franchise made up of a total of six movies, and it’s the most relatable movie to “Hush” on the list.

The first film in the franchise, “Scream”, released in 1996, follows Sidney Prescott, a high school student in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, who becomes the target of Ghostface after her mother is murdered. As the body count rises, Sidney must team up with her friends and local reporter Gale Weathers to uncover the identity of the killer before it’s too late.

“Scream 2”, follows Sidney and her friends as they move on to college, only to be targeted by Ghostface once again.

“Scream 3”, sees Sidney returning to her hometown of Woodsboro for a break from her acting career, only to find herself once again in the crosshairs of Ghostface. The film delves into Sidney’s past and her relationship with her estranged father, revealing the origins of the Ghostface killings.

Scream 4, released in 2011, takes place ten years after the events of Scream 3 and introduces a new generation of teenagers to the terror of Ghostface.

The fifth installment in the franchise, simply titled “Scream”, was released in 2022 and serves as a “requel,” passing the torch to a new generation of characters while also bringing back legacy characters like Sidney, Gale, and Dewey Riley.

And finally, in the last installment of the “Scream” movies, in the aftermath of the latest Ghostface killings that terrorized Woodsboro, four survivors leave their hometown behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City. However, their hopes for peace are shattered when a new Ghostface emerges, targeting the survivors and their loved ones.

So, if you’re some of the best movies like “Hush”, you should definitely check out the “Scream” film series.

Similar to “Scream”, “Halloween” is another slasher horror movie franchise that features a good number of films, 13 in total, and the story centering on Michael Myers, a masked killer that targets its victims every Halloween.

In the first movie, six-year-old Michael Myers murders his teenage sister, Judith, on Halloween night in 1963. Fifteen years later, he escapes from a mental institution and returns to Haddonfield to stalk and kill babysitter Laurie Strode and her friends. Dr. Samuel Loomis, Michael’s former psychiatrist, tries to stop him, but Michael’s reign of terror leaves a trail of bodies in its wake.

In the second film, Laurie is rushed to the hospital after being attacked by Michael. Michael follows her to the hospital, where he continues his rampage, killing nurses, doctors, and patients. Laurie and Loomis must once again confront Michael and try to put an end to his killing spree.

Subsequent installment in the series follows Michael Myers as he returns every Halloween to continue his killing spree, bringing with him terror to the town of Haddonfield.

Friday the 13th

Similar to “Scream” and “Halloween”, “Friday the 13th” is another popular slasher horror movie franchise with the story centering on the popular Jason Vorhees character.

The first film introduces Camp Crystal Lake, a summer camp where a series of murders took place years earlier. The story follows a group of counselors who attempt to reopen the camp, but they are stalked and killed by an unknown assailant who is later revealed to be Pamela Voorhees, the vengeful mother of a boy who had drowned at the camp years before.

The second film introduces Jason Voorhees, who dons a sack over his head and begins a new wave of killings. The film takes place several years after the first and follows a group of camp counselors who become his victims.

The third film sees Jason acquire his iconic hockey mask and continue his murderous rampage.

Similar to “Halloween”, we see Jason continue on his killing spree in subsequent installments of the film which seems to be never-ending.
